After twenty years of creating original artwork for the fashion and home interior markets, I was ready to launch my own collection. For this range I was inspired by everything from classic Americana to Flea Markets. Nauticals re-imagined, Earthy Batiks with an urban edge and Ikats mixed with almost abstract Florals that have a painterly feel.
I love to rework classic images whether it's infusing them with unexpected color or blowing up the scale out of proportion and pairing them with a contrasting print. For this collection, I've taken the iconic images of my life and I've twisted them around a bit and turned them into pillows. Those stunning delicate handkerchiefs in my grandmother’s top drawer? Pillows. The batiks I wore in seventh grade? They've been urbanized. It goes on from there...
All the pillows are lovingly sewn and hand printed in Los Angeles on a fabrication that feels like a cross between a silk twill and a cool, crisp, cotton shirt. And everything is machine washable.
